Chris Ledsham AMBCI, Consultant

Mick founded Biscon Planning Ltd over twenty years ago and has built it into a respected consultancy specialising in business continuity and resilience management. He leads the firm in supporting public and private sector organisations with bespoke, practical solutions. Mick is recognised for his innovative financial and operational risk modelling, helping organisations understand and manage risk in an increasingly complex environment, and delivers projects focused on operational and organisational resilience.

Before founding Biscon, Mick worked in Investment Banking in the City of London in risk monitoring and financial reporting roles. A graduate of the University of Durham, he is a Chartered Accountant, a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), a regular conference speaker, and a published author on risk and resilience.

Chris has worked in Business Continuity and Resilience since 2011, supporting organisations across sectors including social housing, manufacturing, insurance, and aviation. At Biscon, he specialises in Business Continuity (BC) audits and health checks, the development of BC plans and management systems, and the delivery of engaging training and exercising solutions to strengthen organisational resilience.

Before consultancy, Chris worked in stockbroking and retail banking, progressing to regional management, and has also served as an Officer in the British Army Reserve specialising in crisis management and resilient organisations. He is a graduate of the University of Newcastle and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute (AMBCI).

Martin is a senior consultant with over 30 years’ experience in law enforcement, achieving the rank of Chief Superintendent. He has held critical roles as a multi‑agency Gold Commander, Hostage and Crisis Negotiator, and Armed Policing Lead, and now translates this experience into impactful leadership and crisis management training.

Drawing on lessons from Public Inquiries and high‑profile organisational failures, and with strong expertise in JESIP and the Civil Contingencies Act, Martin delivers engaging, people‑focused workshops that address culture, accountability, and decision‑making. He has worked with senior executives, national charities, and delivered scenario‑based exercises for Manchester City Football Club and the Co‑op Live Arena.  Author of several articles, papers and podcast discussions around negotiation and influencing skills.

Ian Pidgen, Dip BCM, Consultant

Ian is a highly accomplished investigator and risk, security, resilience and crisis management professional with extensive UK and international experience across policing, NHS, financial services, corporate, aviation, telecoms and local authorities. Former Head of Risk & Resilience for a major organisation employing over 60,000 people across the UK and Ireland, with strategic responsibility for business continuity and crisis management. Award‑winning subject matter expert in Counter Terrorism Planning and former senior police officer with National Crime Squad experience in kidnap and extortion. Also a recognised expert in security systems, CCTV, access control, vulnerability assessment and high‑pressure decision making.

Felicity Carr, Marketing and Project Manager

Felicity is a Marketing and Project Manager with experience across marketing, communications, and project coordination within professional services. She leads the delivery of marketing initiatives, including digital and social media campaigns, and plays a key role in strengthening Biscon’s brand presence within the business continuity and resilience sector.

 Felicity also manages the planning and delivery of client and internal projects, working closely with consultants, partners, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. Known for her structured approach and attention to detail that supports client engagement and business growth.

Steve joined Biscon in 2012 and is now Consulting Director, having progressed through roles as Business Continuity Consultant and Senior Consultant. He leads client engagements covering BCMS development and review, Incident Management Team training, exercises, supply chain resilience, crisis communications, and ISO 22301 internal auditing.

Prior to Biscon, Steve spent 24 years in Local Authority, including five years as a Senior Resilience Officer responsible for Emergency Planning and Business Continuity. He founded the Liverpool Business Continuity Management Forum, was shortlisted for Public Sector BCM Manager of the Year at the 2011 CIR Awards, and is a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner with extensive emergency planning experience.
